Howitt Construction is a busy excavation company based out of Red Deer. We're looking for experienced rover operators for nightshift and dayshift on a pond project located approx 80 minutes NW of Whitecourt. Work contract approx 1.5 months long, start date is asap.
The rover position will dominantly operate a tractor grading site, but should have experience on hoe/dozer and rock truck to fill in as required.
Candidates must be able to perform all the skills in the Scope of Work, and work in a safe manner following all policies and procedures.
Work Details
- 10 - 11 hrs/shift + 1 hr of drive time,
- 7 days a week, long weekends off (4 days),
- Hotel/LOA available,
- Transportation provided to and from work.
Excavator Scope of Work:
- Minimum 4 years of excavator experience,
- Production loading rock trucks, shaping berms,
- Working around other heavy equipment & ground personnel,
- Complete walk arounds,
- Fuel and grease own machine.
Dozer Scope of Work:
- Minimum of 4 years experience,
- Stripping topsoil,
- Grading slopes,
- Must be able to work alone with limited supervision.
Rock Truck Scope of Work
- Minimum of 5 months experience,
- Operate machine safely,
- Dump loads where directed,
- Maintain consistent distance when pulling up to excavator,
- Complete walk arounds,
- Fuel and grease own machine.
PPE Requirements
- Steel toed boots,
- High visibility safety vest,
- Safety glasses,
- Hard hat,
- Gloves.
