Position Summary:
Dr. Jianguo (Jeff) Xia lab focuses on leveraging bioinformatics, metabolomics and systems biology to study the effects of biological (i.e. gut microbiome and helminths) and environmental factors on health and disease.
In this position, the incumbent will perform the following duties, but is not limited to:
1) High-performance computing workflow for large-scale metabolomics data analysis
2) Development of deep learning algorithm for multi-omics integration
3) Maintenance of server / database (Linux environment)
4) Assisting other team members in data analytics
5) Presenting work in at least one conference in the field
6) Leading or contributing to manuscript writing
7) Deep learning and familiar with large language models
Salary will reflect the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
Qualifications:
- PhD in bioinformatics and metabolomics and 5 years of relevant research experience
- Coding experience with at least two languages (R, Java, C++, or Python)
- Experience with hardware and server maintenance
