EDinsight Education is based in Vancouver, Canada. We are an educational consulting company that specializes in helping students from both Canada and China apply to top private schools and prestigious colleges in Canada and the US.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Leadership Project Mentor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding and advising students as they initiate their passion projects, which may include starting nonprofit organizations, organizing fundraising events, and more. Your expertise and knowledge will empower students to take action and amplify their impact on our community.
Important: Only candidates located in Vancouver and available to work in person will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and mentor students in developing and implementing their passion projects, providing support and advice throughout the process.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance students' leadership skills, project management abilities, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with students to identify resources, networks, and opportunities to support the successful execution of their projects.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel empowered to explore their interests and make a positive impact.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students' projects, offering constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to leverage additional support and resources for student initiatives.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in youth leadership development and community engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education, social sciences, or community development.
- Proven experience working with youth in a mentorship or leadership capacity, ideally within a nonprofit organization, educational institution, or similar setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and effectively convey complex concepts.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, including planning, execution, and evaluation of initiatives.
- Knowledge of youth development principles, leadership theories, and best practices in community engagement.
- Passion for empowering young people to drive positive change and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate varying schedules, including occasional evening or weekend commitments.
