Youth Care Worker

In these YouthCommunity Services roles, the successful candidate will have:
- A willingness and ability to work with vulnerable
- Awareness of community services, resources, and
- Experience in working with Aboriginal groups/communities.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and ability to write reports.
- Provide conflict resolution support and crisis
- Provide daily living skills support and advocate for clients.
QUALIFICATION
- Combination of education (Social Work, First Nations Studies, Criminology, Psychology etc.) and experience. PGNFC recognizes lived experience as an asset in supporting youth.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a willingness and ability to obtain unrestricted Class4 within 3 months of hire.
- Certification: Standard First Aid, Crisis Prevention/intervention (CPI) Suicide Intervention (ASIST) and Food Safe; or the willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to undergo a successful criminal record
- In accordance to section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code, preference will be given to qualified applicants of Indigenous ancestry.
- Wages: $27.19/hr. - $32.76/hr. based on qualifications and experience (night shift premium).
