Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one or in small group settings with youth in foster care
- Implement individualized service plans and behavioural strategies
- Use trauma-informed and strength-based approaches to support youth
- Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, meal preparation, school routines, and recreational activities
- De-escalate crises and manage challenging behaviours using approved intervention techniques
- Complete documentation including daily logs, incident reports, and communication notes
- Work collaboratively with foster parents, case managers, clinicians, and other team members
- Model and teach positive coping skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC, CYW, SSW) or Degree in a related field — Required
- Minimum 1 year of direct experience working with youth with behavioural challenges — Required
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices and behavioural intervention techniques
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Valid G Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Current Broad Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Crisis intervention training (e.g., Safe Management, TCI, CPI) — Asset
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and overnights
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
