Relaxation Specialist (Guru) - Job Description (Spa Attendant/Receptionist)
Position: Relaxation Specialist / Brand Ambassador / Reception (YYC) (PART TIME : MUST BE AVAILABLE THURSDAY - SUNDAY for closing shifts)

We are currently hiring a part-time Relaxation Specialist - Guru to join our team. *Must be flexible to work early mornings starting at 7 am, evenings until 11 pm, weekends and holidays as required.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Relaxation Specialist (RS) - Guru is a sales focused role integral to providing exceptional guest experiences while driving product and service sales. You will serve as the lead customer service contact for guests and prospects, ensuring they receive personalized attention and a 5-star experience. This role not only involves creating a welcoming atmosphere but also promotes products and services in alignment with guests' wellness needs. As a key member of the team, you will be present during the guest experience, answering questions, providing guidance, and maintaining strong guest connections to elevate their visit. Additionally, you will focus on providing an experience that encourages guest retention, building lasting relationships and ensuring guests return for their wellness needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service & Experience: Greet and check-in guests with a warm welcome, ensuring their needs are met. Build lasting relationships by remembering guest preferences and providing personalized service throughout their visit.
Sales & Product Knowledge: Drive product and service sales by recommending offerings that align with guests' wellness goals. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products and services to provide informed suggestions.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Assist with laundry and perform regular cleaning tasks, including washing towels and maintaining common areas like saunas, steam rooms, and washrooms to ensure cleanliness.
Team Support: Collaborate with the Relaxation Specialist (RS) - Flow to ensure smooth daily operations. Help with various tasks, including deep cleaning and supporting the team in any other required duties.
Administrative Support: Handle guest transactions accurately, manage appointments, ensure waivers are signed, and perform opening/closing procedures to maintain spa readiness.
Guest Experience Enhancement: Ensure the atmosphere aligns with Cedar & Steam’s core values. Maintain an elevated, welcoming environment that supports an exceptional guest experience, addressing any concerns or requests as needed, while consistently maintaining strong standards of service and professionalism in all guest interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- No specific formal education required, but a general understanding of health and wellness is an asset.
- AGLC Proserve certificate is required.
- Standard | Intermediate First Aid and CPR is required.
- Police Information Check is required.
Experience:
- Customer service experience is essential.
- Experience in health club, spa, or hospitality industries preferred.
- Aesthetician experience is an asset.
- Bartending or serving experience is a plus.
- Previous knowledge of massage therapy and essential oils is ideal.
- Experience with MindBody software or similar systems is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
