Job Description
The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is seeking an Associate.
The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at William Osler Health System (Osler) is seeking a Fellowship-Trained Staff Radiologist to join our collegial team. This position is primarily based at Etobicoke General Hospital, serving a diverse and rapidly growing patient population, with responsibilities across all Osler sites.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic imaging services, including MR, CT, ultrasound, radiography, and mammography.
- Competently perform image-guided procedures, such as CT and ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage tube insertions, and a variety of fluoroscopic-guided procedures.
- Participate in both inpatient and outpatient study interpretation, on-site and remotely, including evening, weekend, and late-night call shifts across Osler sites.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including surgery, oncology, and other specialties—to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Contribute to clinical education and support the training of both Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) medical students and residents, and University of Toronto (UofT) Diagnostic Radiology residents (as a core community teaching site). Physicians are expected to apply for an academic appointment with the faculty of medicine at TMU.
About the Program:
The Diagnostic Imaging department at Osler is a dynamic, fast-paced, and supportive environment with high patient volumes and advanced technology. The department has an academic mandate that includes training medical students and residents from TMU, and is a core community teaching site for UofT’s Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program.
Qualifications
- Certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) with an additional Fellowship year. Fellowships in vascular interventional radiology, cardiac imaging, or neuroradiology will be considered assets
- License to practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Proficiency in core diagnostic imaging modalities – MR, CT, ultrasound, radiography, and mammography.
- Strong procedural skills, including but not limited to CT and US-guided biopsies, drainage tube insertions, and various fluoroscopic-guided interventions
- Experience in clinical teaching and/or research is an asset, with opportunities for academic appointment at TMU and UofT.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of attendance, punctuality and accountability
