Successful QA Analysts possess meticulous attention to detail, analytical thinking, and technical proficiency to ensure software quality. Reporting to the Supervisor, Software Development, the QA Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products and ensuring the end products are intuitive, functional and value add to end-users.
What you will be doing
- Conduct manual and automated testing of software applications to identify defects, inconsistencies, and issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand software functionality and requirements.
- Report defects accurately using established processes and tools and track their resolution.
- Perform regression testing to verify bug fixes and software enhancements.
- Identify and communicate potential risks and areas for improvement in software applications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the quality of each software release.
- Continuously update and improve testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
What you bring to the team
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in software testing.
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and testing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of databases and ability to understand SQL queries.
- Proficiency in using testing tools and bug tracking software.
- Basic understanding of the Insurance industry and key terminology is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

In the first year, success will be measured by the candidate’s ability to demonstrate a strong grasp of testing methodologies, collaborate effectively with the team, contribute to thorough testing, and exhibit adaptability to changing project requirements. The successful candidate should also show a commitment to continuous learning, problem-solving, and user-centric testing, ultimately contributing to successful software releases and maintaining a culture of quality within the organization.
