Job Description
Westport Fuel Systems in Cambridge, Ont. designs and manufactures a comprehensive product mix of alternative fuel components for applications in the light and heavy-duty vehicle and industrial segments globally. This product mix includes Hydrogen (H2) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) components such as pressure regulators, tank valves, PRD's, PRV’s, shutoff valves and integrated systems for a wide range of applications, including Fuel Cell vehicles.
Position Purpose
The Quality Systems & Configuration Coordinator is responsible for managing configuration, documentation, and records related to product and process changes. This role supports engineering change control, maintains accurate system records, creates and reviews IMDS submissions, and plays a key role in internal and external quality audits. The coordinator will serve as a JDE super user and contribute to compliance with IATF 16949 and other applicable standards.
Role responsibilities
- Review and release Engineering Orders (EOs) and associated drawings, ensuring accuracy and timely implementation.
- Act as a super user for JDE: maintain the Item Master, Routing, Address Book, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Create and maintain address book entries in JDE for employees, vendors, and customers.
- Prepare and submit IMDS (International Material Data System) reports to customers.
- Request, review, and manage incoming IMDS submissions from suppliers.
- Support facility during customer audits and ensure audit readiness.
- Perform internal product and system audits in accordance with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Conduct process capability studies and Gage R&R (Repeatability and Reproducibility) for key product characteristics.
- Assist with document and records control activities as required.

Position Requirements
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related technical field is required
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards).
- Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP.
- Hands-on experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical software.
- Familiarity with quality standards including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001.
- Experience conducting internal audits.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a collaborative team player.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance.
