Summary
The Powder Coating Technician and Lead Hand is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the powder coating process and ensuring high-quality finishes.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Help supervise and coordinate the powder coating team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Surface Preparation: Oversee the cleaning, sanding, masking, and pre-coating preparation of surfaces.
- Powder Application: Apply powder coating using appropriate techniques and equipment, ensuring even coverage and adherence to quality standards.
- Production: Assisting to load and unload the paint line with metal parts - up to 40 lbs
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections and tests to verify that painted surfaces meet company standards and rectify any issues.
- Data Entry: Enter production and testing data in ERP or production software as needed
- Training: Help train new team members on proper techniques, safety protocols, and productivity goals.
- Maintenance: Assist in the performance of routine maintenance on powder coating equipment and troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of powder coating materials and supplies
- Other related duties as may be assigned
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in industrial powder coating, with leadership experience an asset
- Skills: Proficiency in surface preparation, powder application techniques, and equipment maintenance
- Computer / Data Entry Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel or other related data entry software
- Leadership: leadership and communication skills
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented approach to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to standards
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Flexibility: Adaptability to changing job requirements and schedules
Regular Hours of work: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
