Position Overview:
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pet Therapy Volunteer Coordinator to manage the full volunteer lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to placement and retention. This remote, part-time position (approximately 15 hours per week) is ideal for someone passionate about pets, people, and building strong volunteer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for new volunteers, guiding them through onboarding, orientation, and placement.
- Match pet therapy teams with suitable facilities based on availability, location, and team interests.
- Maintain volunteer records using Better Impact, ensuring accuracy and generating regular reports.
- Support volunteer engagement and retention through satisfaction surveys, ongoing communication, and recognition programs.
- Schedule and coordinate screenings, orientations, and other volunteer events.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Event Coordinator on newsletters, social media postings, promotional materials, and process improvements.
- Assist with data tracking, policy documentation, and general administrative duties.
- May need to be available to attend training, orientations or events from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a non-profit or volunteer management role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GoogleSuite and volunteer management databases (preferably Better Impact).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Familiarity with volunteer recruitment and engagement best practices.
- Based in or near Vancouver, with occasional availability on weekends for orientations or events.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid criminal record check.
