We’re hiring Part-time Swim Instructors at our Lakeshore location, and we want you to be part of our vibrant team!
Reporting to the Aquatics & Sports Supervisor, the Swim Instructor plays a vital role in delivering fun, engaging, and effective swim programs for participants of all ages. This position is responsible for the planning, instruction, and evaluation of swim lessons while maintaining a safe and welcoming aquatic environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Plan and deliver swim lessons using daily lesson plans and long-term core plans to support progressive learning
- Assess and evaluate participants' progress and provide feedback to swimmers and parents/guardians
- Set up and clean up the pool deck before and after classes
- Maintain a safe swim environment through effective class management and proper scanning techniques
- Follow emergency procedures when necessary
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all participants and caregivers
- Attend regular in-service training sessions
- Assist with and participate in promotional events and club initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Current standard First Aid & CPR-C certifications required
- Current Swim Instructor Certification required
- At least 1 year of experience as a Swim Instructor
- Ability to work days, afternoons, evenings and weekends (evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
NICE TO HAVE:
- Completed or working towards National Lifeguard Certification is an asset
- Completed or working towards Lifesaving Instructor Certification is an asset
- Completed or working towards Bronze and/or NL Examiner is an asset
- High Five Certifications
- Knowledge of and/or working towards HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development and/or Quest 2
