Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various painting techniques and restoration processes, with the ability to work on both residential and commercial projects. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, or priming as necessary
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications
- Execute restoration work on existing structures while maintaining aesthetic integrity
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in various environments
- Perform carpentry tasks as needed to support painting projects
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding project progress and requirements
- Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills:
- Proven experience in construction painting and restoration projects
- Familiarity with residential and commercial painting techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
- Knowledge of rigging practices for safe equipment handling
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and teamwork
