Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Order Desk Associate. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Order Desk Associate assists in the day-to-day operations by taking customer phone calls, faxes, emails and processing them into orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answers customer calls.
- Inputs orders into database.
- Generates quotations.
- Informing customers of receipt, prices, shipping dates, and delays.
- Checking inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise.
- Adjust inventory records to reflect product movement.
- Provides excellent customer service by resolving customer inquiries or complaints.
- Reports material shortages and material requirements.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Greater than one year but up to three years' experience in a similar role.
- Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.
- Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask and work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to effectively build relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Detailed oriented with problem-solving skills.
- Strong “customer service” mindset.
- Ability to use computer equipment including Microsoft office.
