The Montessori Room is an online and brick and mortar store selling educational materials and toys. We're known for our warm, knowledgeable staff, who all have experience in early childhood education and our loyal community of families and educators.
With consistent 30–40% year-over-year growth, we’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to bring structure, leadership, and energy to our busy Toronto storefront and warehouse team (both in east Toronto).
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with store management experience, who is great at managing and motivating a team of people and a strong attention to detail.
Ideally this individual will bring more structure, energy, and expertise to help us navigate and thrive during this exciting phase of growth.
Ideal candidates will:
- Have a minimum of 3 years in a retail leadership role (Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager level)
- Thrive in hands-on and often busy environment, leading by example
- Have full command of store operations including labour management, merchandising, inventory control, and customer experience
- Embrace change and bring a continuous improvement mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations at both the store and warehouse
- Lead and schedule a team of store and warehouse staff
- Manage inventory movement, receiving, restocking, and stock accuracy
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and store presentation
- Handle floor coverage, customer service issues, and coaching moments
- Identify and implement process improvements to support growth
