HumanKind HR Solutions Inc. is seeking a young, dynamic leader with 2-5 years of business experience as Operations Manager, supporting our growth. We are looking for a mature full time student or recent graduates who has experience in a fast paced, highly detailed environment.
You are an excellent communicator, organized, comfortable with a wide range of small business technologies and have experience working in a fast paced, results oriented business environment.
Based in Halifax, HumanKind provides Dedicated Fractional HR services to the non-profit, startup/technology and hospitality sectors in Canada and the US.

Introduction and Purpose of the Role
The Operations Manager plays a key role in leading and shaping the growth of HumanKind HR Solutions’ business. The position includes a focus on delighting clients, implementation of new clients, supporting business growth, management of projects, research of prospects, new business calls, networking, developing sales proposals, on-going client relations, overseeing office management and administration. The Operations Manager works closely with the President.
Responsibilities
The purpose and priority of this role is to help lead and manage overall operations including a team of consultants and other team members in delivering exceptional HR services to small business and non-profit clients including:
- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives
- Draw on relationships with key team members, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
- Plan, monitor, and analyse key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks via Google Calender, Documents and functionalities of Google
- Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs company wide, and implement process improvements to maximise output and minimise costs
- Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed
- Lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment
- Development, and editing, of service offerings, in particular health, wellness and mindfulness programs
- Development of new business proposals
- Writing of reports and other documents for prospects and clients
- Booking appointments, meetings and maintaining communication with clients
- Working with insurance providers and clients to complete benefits quotes, implementations, and renewals
- Administration of Benefit Accounts on a daily basis
- Administration of health, wellness and mindfulness programs (surveys and scheduling)
- Ongoing client relations - troubleshooting, networking, plan changes, blog writing
- Development and distribution of client communications
- Client database updating and maintenance
- Creating prospect lists of potential clients, assistance in prospecting and new business calls
- Some bookkeeping (tracking invoices and payments – incoming and outgoing)
- Other general administrative support as required
- Maintaining and suggesting Social Media initiatives
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal communication ability
- Highly developed writing and editing skills
- Experience in office administration
- Operational experience with/knowledge of both group and individual lines of benefit
- Knowledge of social media, web marketing and web development
- Customer service / client care experience
- Experience in business development, sales and cold calls
- Some knowledge of accounting / finance
- Sales knowledge an asset
- Human resources experience and basic understanding of laws and regulations

We work with small to medium sized businesses and non-profit organizations, offering team-based, fractional, dedicated HR support, and HR on-call services.
- HR consulting on HRIS considerations, assisting with needs assessment, review of top HRIS systems, selection and decision making considerations, and implementation.
- Group Benefits - as a licensed Benefit Advisor in Nova Scotia, Ontario and Alberta - advising organizations on group health benefits and group savings plans
- Wellness - providing wellness programs to organizations
- Mindfulness - we deliver mindfulness programs to individuals and organizations, including core content from the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
