What to Expect:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Operations Insights & Project Specialist to support our Operations function through advanced Business Intelligence (BI), strategic project management, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing BI solutions while proactively developing new capabilities to support effective, data-driven decision-making across all areas of Operations. As a key contributor to cross-functional and strategic projects, the Specialist will provide detailed analysis, actionable insights, and recommendations. In addition, the role supports project planning and execution, helping to drive business value through process optimization, operational excellence, and structured project delivery.
A day in the life of an Operations Insights & Project Specialist
- Lead and guide the Operations team as the Subject Matter Expert for Business Intelligence (BI) tools, reports, and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility to support both daily operations and long-term strategic planning.
- Design, develop, and continuously improve BI solutions that translate complex operational data into actionable insights, driving effective decision-making and operational excellence.
- Provide BI active support for day-to-day operations as well as long term projections and decision-making scenarios and data (IE: Operational Plan, Master Business Strategy, Request for Proposals, etc).
- Manage system updates, maintenance, and report generation to ensure timely & effective responses to internal users and managers.
- Collaborate closely with global teams and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performing reporting solutions aligned with business goals.
- Provide data-driven insights and senior-level analysis to support cross-functional projects, identifying risks, resolving discrepancies, and delivering recommendations that optimize project outcomes.
- Educate and communicate to internal users on how to leverage available data and tools to drive business results.
- Support project execution throughout all phases—from initiation and planning to monitoring and closure—working collaboratively with internal, external and global teams
- Prepare and support materials and clear communications for meeting and projects, progress updates, and operational reviews to various audiences, including senior leadership
- Support data collection and analysis for monthly and annual Budget reviews and process as well develops necessary tools for accuracy.
- Participate in Lean value stream initiatives and continuous improvement projects, to enhance process efficiency, sustainability, and cost savings.
- Document current and future business processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practices and supporting teams in adopting standardized, scalable workflows.
Role Requirements
- Bilingualism in English and French (written and spoken), as this position requires collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market and worldwide.
- Bachelor’s degree in operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in Operation/ Logistics functions in a corporate environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Power BI (M language), SAP HANA, Snowflake, and SQL preferred), data management, reporting, commercial and business process understanding.
- Experience Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (advanced functions), PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and tools, becoming autonomous following training.
- Solid project management skills, including planning, organizing, monitoring, and controlling tasks; a PMP certification is considered an asset
- Proven track record of initiating and supporting new projects based on industry best practices and delivering measurable impact and performance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines independently with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to understand complex problems and develop practical, data-driven solutions.
- Skilled in communicating complex information clearly and effectively to various audiences, including senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
- A proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented mindset, with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Project management certificate (PMP) is an asset
