Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Ocean Import Coordinator to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the importation of goods via ocean freight, ensuring compliance with regulations and facilitating smooth operations. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customs brokers, and internal departments.
Duties
- Manage the end-to-end process of ocean imports, including documentation and tracking shipments.
- Provide outstanding customer service to customers
- Ensure timely and effective communication takes place within defined time limits.
- Track and tracing cargo status
- Inform customer of shipment status
- Perform shipment release upon ready (with B/L and payment verified)
- Coordinate with carrier/customer & overseas offices/agents
- Ensure all files closed properly on or before deadline
- Monitor ATA/ETA with carriers and ensure freight has arrived as per schedule.
- Ensure import arrival notices are dispatched to clients well in advance
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm shipment details and resolve any issues that may arise during transit.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in ocean freight forwarding or logistics coordination is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of import regulations and customs procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges that may arise during the import process.

Pay: $46,000.00-$51,000.00 per year
