ADGA is currently looking to hire a Network Administrator to join our team!
In this role, you will join one of our largest Defence programs and provide support to the Land Command Support System TacC2IS (Tactical Command and Control Information System) network and fielding activities. You will help the engineering, testing, integration, fielding and maintenance of the TacNet (TacticalNet) system.
Looking for candidates that have a proactive attitude in learning a complex system and resolving issues, both autonomously and within a team
Tasks will include:
- Validate server image Build Books.
- Build new server instances.
- Upgrade existing server instances.
- Provide initial knowledge transfer and system familiarization with field force system administrators.
- Support test activities.
- Field TacNet to the Canadian Army.
- Assist in the diagnosis and resolution of issues raised by the field force.
Qualifications
- Proof of STEM diploma (2 year minimum) in networking, software, computer, systems, electrical or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.
- At least 1 year of experience within the last 6 years in the preparation of technical concept documentation, system specifications and technical proposals in the field of information technology, information management or engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience in at least 2 of the following:
- Drafting and developing presentations and briefings regarding network status and issues to management.
- Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision making of management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams in the development and support of IT tactical systems or multisite Enterprise Networks.
- At least 1 year of experience in at least 8 of the following:
- Planning, installing, managing and implementing network architectures.
- Windows 2003 Sever or higher system administration.
- Managing TCP/IP, Network file system, and servers.
- Microsoft Exchange Server administration.
- SQL Server Administration
- SMS Server Administration.
- Preparing and engineering network policies and procedures.
- Managing network, personnel, and networking security.
- Managing internal services (i.e. web servers, ftp servers, etc.)
- Gateway, bridge and router management
- Management and security of systems connected to the Internet.
Additional Information
Additional skills considered a must have to be successful in this role:
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with Linux
- Good knowledge and experience with networking: DNS traffic, TCP/IP
- Experience setting up high availability and load balancing configurations for servers and databases
- Familiarity with Microsoft environment and administration
Skills considered a strong asset:
- Familiarity with text-based messaging protocols, ideally Openfire and at least one Chat client an asset
- Understanding of the current LC5ISR (LCSS) architecture and environment an asset
- Experience with testing and automation an asset
- Experience with building and configuring systems (server and clients)
- Background in IT systems administration.
- Must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Secret clearance (Level II)
