This Position reports to:
Manufacturing Unit Manager
The material planner is responsible for planning materials, managing inventory, making daily releases and supporting continuously improvement of value chain efficiency through cross-function collaboration and digital implementation on supply chain. This position requires sharp attention to detail and strong communication with internal partners to drive successful outcomes while following corporate guidelines and policies. The material planner will report to the Planning Team Leader.
The work model for the role is onsite, at the GFI Pointe-Claire location, and the role is contributing to the Installation Products division.
Your Role: Own the Challenge
- Plan and manage material requirements to support production schedules.
- Review and read drawings to identify materials and hardware and plan accordingly.
- Retrieve customer forecast weekly to ensure parts are released on a timely manner to support production.
- Maintain the inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, and lead time, in the planning system.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams to solve issues and meet goals.
- Report regularly to the Planning Team Leader on material status and any concerns.
- Follow company policies and procedures in all planning activities.
What it takes to run what runs the world
- 2-3 years of experience in similar position will be considered as an advantage.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across departments to achieve business goals.
- Able to read technical drawings and familiar with various types of materials and hardware.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and workflows simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Eager to learn, flexible, open-minded, and team oriented.
- Fluent in English and French. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
