Coaldale Public Library is seeking a Program Coordinator who will play a key role in bringing our library’s mission to life through vibrant, inclusive, and responsive programming for children, teens, adults, and families.
About the Role
The Program Coordinator is at the heart of our community outreach and public engagement efforts. You’ll design, implement, and evaluate programs that respond to the needs and interests of our patrons. From story times to adult workshops, from holiday events to partnership initiatives with local organizations — you'll help make the library a place people want to return to again and again.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and deliver engaging programs for all ages, ensuring they are inclusive, relevant, and well-attended.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with patrons, making them feel welcome and valued.
- Connect with community organizations to create partnerships and co-host events and programs.
- Identify community needs and interests to inform programming choices.
- Juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities while staying organized and on top of deadlines.
- Promote programs by designing posters in Canva and using a variety of communication platforms, including social media and newsletters.
- Work collaboratively with library staff while managing your own busy, shifting schedule.
- Ensure all programming stays within budget and aligns with library goals.

- Post-secondary education.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills — you're friendly, warm, and able to connect with people of all ages.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A talent for planning, organizing, and implementing creative programs.
- Ability to respond to community interests and adapt programming accordingly.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Tech-savvy, with strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and social media tools.
- Ability to work within a set budget.
- Flexibility to work split shifts, evenings, and Saturdays as needed.
Requirements
- Candidates offered a position with Coaldale Public Library, i will be required to obtain a criminal record check verifying a clear record before a final job offer can be finalized.
- Candidates must be physically capable of lifting boxes up to 30 pounds, maneuvering book carts weighing up to 50 pounds, and climbing on stools and ladders.
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license and means of transportation.
