We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our growing team as a Construction Junior Estimator. Our company works on both residential and commercial projects, so the ideal candidate will be familiar with a wide range of worksites, cost structures, and timelines. Your job duties include surveying potential worksites, collaborating with contractors, vendors and other agencies, and providing comprehensive cost analysis for potential clients. Excellent communication skills are required to present your estimates to stakeholders and clients. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills and thrive while working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Attend site visits and fulfill client appointments.
- resent estimates to clients within specified deadlines and timeframes, professionally and courteously.
- Assess projects by identifying project requirements for time, labour, and materials costs.
- Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.
- Collaborate with clients and the team during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy.
- Act as the final say in the calculation, analysis and adjustment of estimates and change orders.
- Provide recommendations for cost reduction.
- Assist the team in final project preparation transactions.
- Maintain thorough records of all project documents, including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years experience in the Estimator role. Preferably in "Construction" industry
- College diploma in Civil Construction Engineering technology or other related equivalent trade certificates. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
- Strong background in mathematics is required
- Must own your vehicle.
- Proficiency with cost estimating software like Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with construction practices, costs, and procedures
- Experience with vendor management, procurement, and construction management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
