Position Overview: We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented person to join our team. Reporting to the A2SKI Project Construction Manager, the Junior Estimator is responsible for assisting in the preparation of estimates and involved in some aspects of the bidding process on projects. This position will be involved in all aspects of the tender process while maintaining databases and other administrative tasks as required.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Solicit supply pricing through an understanding of products available in the market to prepare accurate, timely cost estimates.
- Gather and organize quote documents laying out all pricing and relevant information.
- Track project specifications, blueprints, and associated documents.
- Data entry of project schedules and budgets.
- Review addendums to see if scope of work has changed and determine its effects on project pricing.
- Track tender closing dates and status of award post tender.
- Participate in tender meetings with the client.
- Review tenders and bid requests to ensure scopes of work match proposals.
- Effectively communicate with clients and vendors to ensure accuracy of estimates.
- Coordinate all couriers and tender deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Technical school education or equivalent; construction experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant CRM platforms.
- Experience with CADwork or other 3D design software applications would be an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret information from construction drawings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and document preparation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- SCOT and WHIMIS required but can be trained onsite.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a construction setting is an asset.
