About Us:
We are a floor contracting company and therefore fall under Division 9 (Building Finishes) in the Construction industry. Our main operation is Supply & Installation of all types of flooring including but not limited to: Wood, Carpet, Tile and Resilient flooring. We work with developers and builders and bid on medium to large new-build projects (i.e: mid & high rise buildings, sub-divisions, senior home communities and commercial projects). We are looking for someone who has project coordinating experience in the construction industry, preferably having worked for a floor contracting or building finishes contracting company in the past but not an absolute requirement. Having some estimating experience is necessary, preferably flooring but not limited to. We will train you in using our estimating Software (Planswift). Knowing how to prepare shop drawings and as-built drawings, Autocad knowledge etc. is a plus also.
Project Coordinator duties and responsibilities:
- Be the point of contact between suppliers, architect/designers, clients (builders/developers) and our installers and other team members.
- Ordering materials and coordinating deliveries to job-site.
- Tracking and communicating schedule requirements to our installers & team members.
- Tracking inventory of materials both on site and our warehouse.
- Accurately enter data of suppliers, vendors, sub-contractors and installers into construction management software, and financial tracking for projects in spreadsheets, and accounting system.
- Support team in various administrative tasks related to estimating, change orders, invoicing and timeline changes.
- Prepare contracts with subcontractors.
- Implement company Health and Safety policy, ensure all health and safety certificates are up to date (i.e WHMIS, Working at Heights, H&S in 4 steps, WSIB clearance)
- Develop and implement quality control programs.
- Supervise/ keep track of Foreman and make sure they are fulfilling their duties.
- Monitoring project progress and creating project status reports for project manager.
- Ensuring that clients needs are met as the project evolves.
- Analyzing risks and opportunities.
- Handle any issues that arise.
Estimator duties and responsibilities:
- Receive bidding documents and download files.
- Upload drawings and conduct take-offs using Planswfit estimating software.
- Analyze and interpret material specifications, and addendums in preparation for pricing.
- Send RFP's (request for pricing) to listed suppliers/ vendors.
- Communicate with internal/ external sources for any questions or clarifications.
- Propose alternate material options for value engineering and cost savings.
- Ensure submission deadlines are met.
- Complete final cost estimates, incorporating all labour, equipment, and material data, pricing documentation, overhead and profit margins.
- Attend Pre-construction meetings.
- Monitor project performance and assess cost effectiveness of products and services, tracing actual costs relative to bids (budgeting) as the project develops.
- Find bidding opportunities/RFQ’s identified through tender sites, and research.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to be flexible in travel (within Ontario).
- Multi-task between project coordinating and estimating.
- Must have valid G license and own vehicle.
- Architectural/Construction Diploma or industry related experience.
- Skilled in reading construction documents, understanding construction scopes, specifications.
- Tech savvy; proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Detail oriented; strong organizational skills and results driven.
- Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to identify potential problems, prepare and present solutions.
- Excellent verbal/ written communication skills, able to contact clients and designers/ vendors for clarifications to plans and specification.

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
