- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to design communications plans that drive business initiatives and provide Team Members with important company information.
- Develop written, graphic, and/or video content for various internal communications channels that drive Team Member engagement and deliver on business results.
- Deliver internal communications content to various Team Member groups using the right communications channels to ensure Team Members are given the right information, in the right place and at the right time.
- Leads content creation for the Longo’s Update, a bi-weekly all Team Member newsletter sharing company information, promotions, etc.
- Develops expert working knowledge of systems to ensure cohesion and proper leverage of all internal applications to drive Team Member awareness and messaging and maximize Team Member engagement (i.e. Dayforce, Axonify, Sharepoint, etc)
- Develops any required communication supporting Internal Crisis Response which could include communication memos, scripts, FAQs that support the flow of information to Team Members in urgent, crisis related situations.
- Has oversight into all internal communications plans and activities to ensure the right flow of information to Team Members.
- Manages Longo's LinkedIn page including creating a content calendar, develops the right content and posts in a timely manner.
- Leads and is the project owner of Longo’s annual Genuine Merchant Awards celebration and ensure the coordination of all related events including special and years of service awards. This role spearheads the planning and execution of all committees related to the execution of the main GMA celebration.
- Collaborates with appropriate internal audiences to plan for and execute important company events like quarterly Town Halls, Genuine Merchant Leadership Conference, etc.
- Develops presentation materials and speaking notes for special events.
- Maintains the intranet, ensuring that content is up to date and user friendly. This includes removing outdated content, providing guidance and best practices to internal stakeholders, and collaborating with IT to ensure the site is working properly.
- Oversees governance over internal communications tools including posting rights, content and look and feel.
- Crafts internal communications that have a consistent tone and voice, meet brand standards and connect to the company's values and culture.
- Provides reporting and analysis where available on effectiveness of communications (i.e. performance of communications campaigns, views through Axonify or Vimeo, intranet analytics, and Team Member feedback).

- Promotes and endorses “Safety is our way of life” for all Health and Food safety programs and initiatives.
- Observes and support Longo’s safe work guidelines and other safe work practices.
- Role models the importance of health and safety and food safety by always working safely and calls out and addressed and safety issues.
- Recognizes risks which may pose a danger to Team Members and customers and resolves such issues (where possible) or modifies work, mitigating the risk to Team Member/customer until resolution can be sourced and implemented.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in internal and external communications, within any organization (preferably retail)
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in communications, public relations or related discipline.
- Strong technical skills and ability to learn and navigate new software quickly and effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to connect with others.
- Self-starter, client-focused and results-oriented.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills with experience in digital and social media channels.
- Works with flexibility and focus to manage numerous tasks, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Is a champion for internal communications, supports others to develop as great communicators and leads by example
