Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Community Relations & Fund Development Coordinator, the Interim Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a volunteer program that will help promote our Mission and Vision within our organization and the surrounding community. The Interim Volunteer Coordinator will also be responsible for building the Volunteer Data base, creating a volunteer job bank, promoting the benefits of being a volunteer and recruiting volunteers that support the mission. This position requires excellent communication, negotiation, presentation skills, and the ability to work and interact respectfully with people of various abilities. Mentorship available, including but not limited to the Volunteer Program Supervisor, Community Relations & Fund Development Coordinator, Executive Director, and Office Manager.
Main Duties of the Position:
Organize outreach programs to interact with the community and influence public opinion or promote services Volunteer program support
- Draft and distribute communications that promote our programs and events Create and coordinate weekly social media content
- Updating website content and coordinating press releases as needed Help plan and promote our annual peer-to-peer fundraiser
- Support administration of in-house and local fundraisers
- Respond to questions, comments, and concerns from community members All work is completed in compliance with applicable Community Care and Assisted Living Act and regulations and would be closely supervised: collaboration with the Leadership Team is necessary

Education required:
Enrolled in Post-Secondary Education
Experience & Skills:
- Possess excellent communication both verbally and in writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a team
- Positive attitude and innovative mind for problem solving
- Ability to organize work effectively
- Proven computer skills; office administration duties
- Ability to work independently, with direction
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Knowledge of, and strict adherence to confidentiality policy
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), preferred
- Excellent presentation skills in-person, or using Power Point
A willingness to learn and excel are also requirements of this position. A workplace supervisor will be assigned to this position to ensure consistent, competent support and advice; and, to ensure future opportunities that provide exposure and experience related to business accounting practices.
