Are you passionate about design and eager to share your expertise with the next generation of creative professionals? The Pacific Design Academy (PDA) is seeking a Web Programming instructor in Graphic Media Design Program to teach on a part-time basis.
As an instructor, you will:
- Teach engaging and practical classes.
- Track attendance and assess student progress effectively.
- Foster a positive and inspiring learning environment.
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons in web programming, focusing on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Introduce students to modern development tools and workflows, including version control (Git), frameworks (e.g., React, Vue), and introductory back-end concepts.
- Provide hands-on guidance through projects and code reviews, helping students understand both technical and conceptual challenges.
- Develop and update instructional materials such as lesson plans, assignments, and assessments.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for individuals with a broad range of expertise, including:
- A diploma or degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Professional experience in web development, including front-end and back-end projects.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with one or more frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Node.js, Express).
- Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with Git and modern development tools and workflows.
- Teaching or mentoring experience is an asset, but not required—enthusiasm and clear communication are key.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A willingness to support students in their learning journey and share real-world insight from your professional experience.
Preference will be given to applicants who have:
- Teaching experience.
