Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching individuals with autism and other developmental differences, focusing on swimming techniques, water safety, and personal growth in the water.
Duties
- Lead swimming lessons for individuals of all ages and skill levels, with an emphasis on adaptive teaching techniques.
- Develop personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each swimmer.
- Offer constructive feedback to support each swimmer’s progress and confidence.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and sensory-friendly environment in and around the pool.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and caregivers regarding progress and goals.
Experience
- Prior experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard, especially in adaptive or therapeutic environments, is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus.
- Strong swimming skills with a solid understanding of strokes and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to build positive connections with individuals of all ages and abilities.
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities preferred.
Please note that according to government regulations for autism funding, applicants must be at least 19 years of age and provide a current criminal record check.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
