Job Overview:
KCC is excited to announce an opportunity for an Instructor to join our dynamic team and to be a part of the Social Service and Community Support Worker Program! .This position requires an instructor who can effectively deliver a range of social service and community support topics and engage students in both theoretical and practical aspects of the program. This role also involves adhering to company regulatory requirements and policies to ensure quality service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Instruction and Curriculum Delivery: Teach core courses in SSCSW program.
- Student Evaluation: Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, exams, and practical applications. Provide feedback to students on their performance and development.
- Student Support: Offer mentorship, academic guidance, and support to students, helping them succeed both in the classroom and in field placements.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work with other faculty members to enhance the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with industry standards and supports student success.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, research, and best practices in early childhood education to inform your teaching and course development.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters inclusivity, learning, and student participation.
Class Schedule:
Friday - 3:30pm -to 8:00pm
Saturday & Sunday - 8:00am - 4:30pm
Requirements:
● A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or a
closely related field.
● At least 1 year of experience working in the field of social support, social
work, or a related profession is preferred.
● Previous teaching or instructional experience, ideally in a post-secondary or
adult education setting.
● Demonstrated ability to engage students and effectively communicate
complex material.
● Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
● Ability to develop and implement various instructional techniques, including
lectures, discussions, and hands-on practical experience.
● Experience with online and in-person teaching formats, where applicable.
Skills & Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of child development, early childhood education principles, and industry best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and mentor students.
Ability to create an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging learning environment.
Organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance teaching, student support, and administrative responsibilities.
