AHS is dedicated to Enhancing Care in the Community, helping people be healthy, well and independent in their homes and communities. Edmonton Zone Continuing Care (CCEZ) provides services through five main program areas: Home Living (HCC Type 1 & 2), Supportive Living (CCH Type B), Facility Living (CCH Type A), Palliative and End of Life Care, CHOICE & Adult Day Programs and Transition Services. The instructor is a member of the CCEZ Education & Practice Development team responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating orientation and education. The education provided by this position supports the clinical practice of frontline staff and collaborates with operational areas across CCEZ. Key Responsibilities: Plans, develops, delivers, maintains and evaluates orientation and education for frontline, administrative and out-of-scope staff within CCEZ. Collaborates with stakeholders to plan and implement education related to changes in policy, procedures, protocols, clinical practice initiatives and technology that impacts and supports best practice and quality improvement. Fosters leadership/mentorship support to team members including program-based educators/clinical nurse educators, professional practice leads, clinical quality consultants and frontline staff to further facilitate staff learning related to CC and program level initiatives. Provides in time learning that impacts CC frontline clinicians to respond to priorities and staff learning needs. The instructor adheres to a professional Code of Ethics, AHS policies and procedures and is accountable for their nursing practice as defined by their regulatory College.
Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Psychiatric Nursing. A minimum of 3 years of recent health care experience. Experience as a facilitator/educator and knowledge of adult learning principles. Demonstrated strong and effective communication and organizational skills. Leadership skills include demonstrated ability to work with various partners. The ability to inspire, influence change and build confidence in others. Use critical thinking to guide decisions. Physical Exertion: Frequent physical demands including lifting, pulling and pushing, and moving equipment; standing for extended periods of time; sitting for extended periods of time is required. The successful candidate will work in different settings for the environment and must be able to carry supply bags which weigh approx. 35-50 lbs. Possibility of shift work and extended hours. Technical skills in computer software & programs such as Connect Care, Microsoft Office, Teams, & SharePoint. Demonstrated project management skills & background in quality improvement. Experience with use of data to support quality improvement. Change management training or experience. Strong nursing skills, background in conducting assessments using interRAI CA/HC/LTC. Previous work as a Case Manager, Professional Practice Lead or Instructor in Continuing care setting.
