Overview
We are a small artisan neighbourhood cafe seeking a Head Chef / General Manager to oversee both kitchen operations and the overall cafe.
This role requires a strong culinary background, leadership skills, and the ability to manage staff, inventory, and customer service. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality food preparation, maintain a positive and efficient work environment, and contribute to the shop's success.
Responsibilities:
- Culinary Leadership:Develop and implement creative menus, manage food production, and ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes.
- Kitchen Management:Oversee all kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to food safety regulations.
- General Management:Manage daily cafe operations, sometimes including customer service, and maintenance of the premises.
- Staff Management:Recruit, train, and supervise all cafe staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Financial Management:Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to achieving sales targets.
- Customer Service:Ensure excellent customer service and address any complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef or in a similar role within a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent culinary skills and a passion for food.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
