Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of our outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in landscape maintenance and demonstrate leadership abilities to supervise and build effective teams. This position requires a passion for gardening and a commitment to delivering high-quality grounds care.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Supervise and lead a team of grounds maintenance staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor the health of plants and landscapes, applying fertilizers if needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate landscaping projects and events.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, performing repairs as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
- Knowledge of gardening techniques, plant and lawn care is essential.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while performing physical tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and other stakeholders.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all work performed.
