Our Preventing Family Violence Treatment Program is seeking a Full Time Permanent Domestic Violence Facilitator
The Domestic Violence Treatment Program is funded through Counselling Calgary and has been created to provide group facilitation to males and females who have a history of family violence. The program is based on the belief that individuals are capable of change. The program will recognize and respond to the unique and diverse experiences the participants have. Groups will be held during the day as well as evening times, with as many as 20 participants at a time. The Facilitators will set the flow for the group and manage all aspects of the group facilitation.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in the Human Services Field
- Knowledge in Family Violence
- 5 years of group facilitation experience in similar settings
- Basic First Aid Level C with Adult, Child, and infant CPR &AED
- Suicide Intervention Training & De-Escalation Training
- Intervention Record Check as well as Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector
- Class 5 drivers license, clean drivers abstract and reliable vehicle for client transportation required, some travel to locations outside of Red Deer is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of the court system are considered an asset.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan, guide, and manage groups. Including but not limited to setting the agenda, ground rules and initiating the discussion.
- Ensure the group’s objectives are met effectively and with clear thinking.
- Create and maintain a safe environment for participants.
Wage Range: $27.28 - $30.51 per hour wage to be negotiated based on education and directly related experience. Travel Reimbursement at $0.55/KM.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. A flexible schedule is required with availability to work evenings and weekends.
