Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and bilingual Family Program Coordinator to lead and support our family-centered programming. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs including prenatal and early childhood programs, parent education workshops, playgroups, and support groups. The Coordinator will also engage in community outreach, build partnerships, and contribute to the continuous development of inclusive, culturally responsive programming for families with young children.
Duties
- Coordinate and oversee daily program operations to ensure smooth execution of activities.
- Develop and implement program schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation, feedback, and outcomes.
- Organize events, workshops, and activities that promote community engagement.
- Establish and maintain supportive relationships with families to assess needs and connect them to appropriate resources and services.
- Provide culturally sensitive and strengths-based support to families from diverse backgrounds.
- Act as a liaison between the Family Resource Centre and community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders
- Evaluate program effectiveness through participant feedback, data collection, and outcomes tracking.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using technology for scheduling, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude towards fostering a supportive learning environment for children.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Current First Aid/CPR and a clear criminal record check (including vulnerable sector screening) required.
Assets:
- Knowledge of community resources and services related to prenatal/postnatal, family support, early learning, and health.
- Group facilitation or adult education training.
