Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations of the clinic by handling front-desk duties, scheduling, patient communications, and administrative support tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients; verify health card and demographic information
- Answer phones, respond to messages, and direct inquiries appropriately
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and send appointment reminders
- Prepare and manage patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Assist providers with administrative tasks including referrals and documentation
- Coordinate with pharmacies, specialists, and labs as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; administrative assistant degree/diploma preferred
- Minimum 2-5 years administrative or medical office experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems (e.g., Accuro)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities
