Scope of work:
Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership (IIR) is mining contractor that operates projects in 2 underground mines located on the east coast of Labrador, approximately 350 km north of Goose Bay. The work consists of building/ installing mine infrastructure such as high pressure doors, regulator walls, wash bays, maintenance bays, fuel bay, etc.

Job Summary:
The primary role of the Electrical Foreperson is to oversee all aspects of the planning, implementation, and completion of electrical projects. This position will administer, direct and coordinate activities of the electrical crew and coordinate and request the necessary equipment, materials and supplies needed for the project.
- Responsible for the overall planning and scheduling of projects to ensure that they are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Perform daily inspections of work performed to ensure it meets quality/safety standards
- Ensure all required electrical repairs, maintenance, testing, and installations are completed properly, i.e. to regulatory and company specifications, and on time
- Supervise, mentor and direct reports in their assignments
- Apply disciplinary procedures as required
- Enforce site and company policies
- Determine equipment necessary (type and size of cables, wires, panel boards, safety switched, etc.) to perform tasks and requisition as needed
- Redirect crew activities in response to unforeseen or unplanned developments
- Support and communicate with project management team as required
- Request and coordinate assistance from maintenance group as required to complete assigned tasks and maximize productive time
- Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage

- 10 Years in an Industrial or Construction Electrician role with a minimum of 3 years in mining (required)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervisory role
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Service Type Common Core (or other provincial equivalent) (preferred)
- Knowledge of standard practices, materials, electrical processes involved in underground mining development
- Knowledge of design, installation and maintenance of the electrical equipment used in underground development areas (cable installation, work platforms, transformer installations, fans, pumps, etc.)
- Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work for employees/crews
- Knowledge of rigging and slinging heavy components
- Ability to understand work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in low, medium and high voltage installations
- Knowledge of legislation and safety regulations pertaining to electrical work
- Computer literacy required working with spreadsheets, business systems (i.e. JDE procurement), and email.
- Ability to multi task and work safely and effectively
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to recognize and resolve problems as required
- Ability to adapt to a varying work environment often requiring the employee to develop new and innovative work methods
