Scope of work:
Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership (IIR) is mining contractor that operates projects in 2 underground mines located on the east coast of Labrador, approximately 350 km north of Goose Bay. The work consists of building/ installing mine infrastructure such as high pressure doors, regulator walls, wash bays, maintenance bays, fuel bay, etc.

Job Summary:
The primary role of the Construction Foreperson is to plan, organize and control activities of a construction group, to ensure the project is completed in accordance with company standards and safety practices; to administer, direct and coordinate the functions of the site management and technical personnel; to minimize project cost; and to provide oversight and assist with the national construction training program.
- Assist project engineering and construction management when necessary in clarifying or defining parameters and deciding on processes to be utilized
- Monitor and analyze production and operational reports to ensure acceptable progress on the project
- Take appropriate action as critical dates approach to ensure a smooth transition from phase to phase
- Develop and lead the crew to achieve planned objectives
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and client-authorized project work schedules;
- Supervise sub-contractors and national workforce
- Ensure that subcontractors have current and accurate plans and specifications
- Act as principal coordinator and liaison with subcontractors to ensure contract compliance
- Establish expectations with subcontractors and vendors to ensure a solid understanding of contract requirements (including documentation and information), expectations, and timing of required construction and materials.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years experience as a Lead-Construction Miner (required)
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Full Basic (or other provincial equivalents) (preferred)
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Front Line Supervisor – Common Core (or other provincial equivalents) (preferred)
- Must understand the underground work environment
- Must understand the responsibilities of leadership
- Ability to multitask and work effectively
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
- Able to work in a team environment and lead by example
- Willing to mentor others
- Willing to be trained in other aspects of trade
- Ability to read civil prints
- Basic understanding of Mine Regulations pertaining to tasks
- Ability to conduct a risk assessment of specific task
- Understanding of work-related procedures and standards
- Ability to recognize and resolve problems as required
