Scope of work:
Innu Inuit Redpath Limited Partnership (IIR) is mining contractor that operates projects in 2 underground mines located on the east coast of Labrador, approximately 350 km north of Goose Bay. The work consists of building/ installing mine infrastructure such as high pressure doors, regulator walls, wash bays, maintenance bays, fuel bay, etc.

Job Summary:
The primary role of the Construction Miner is to complete assigned construction tasks safely and efficiently. The employee should be able to work in a team setting or independently. Various types of construction tasks are required for this position.
- Inspect existing underground headings to ensure the workplace is safe and assigned construction tasks can be executed safely and to design specifications.
- Use of scaling bars, hand-held pneumatic drills, cutting and welding equipment, rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as scissor trucks, boom trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles in a confined environment
- The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive
Health and Safety:
- Follow Company and Client health and safety standards and report all unsafe acts or conditions to the supervisor
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.
- Work in accordance with local legislation
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core – Full Basic (or other provincial equivalents) Specialty Modules: U0085a, U0085b, U0085c & U0086 (or other provincial equivalents) (preferred)
- Basic literacy (reading, writing, basic math and reading blueprints)
- Two years experience in a related construction role in an underground mining environment (Required)
- Must hold a valid Scafffold licences
- Ability to read civil print
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to make decisions quickly
- Knowledge of the mining industry
- Ability to read, review and understand Standard Work Procedures, safety programs and applicable mine regulations
- Must have the ability to adapt to change
