We are looking for a talented mechanical engineer to join Project Design and Quotation Team. You will support and collaborate with the Sales Team in providing technical information or custom conceptual design for customers as well as support the maintenance of line projects.
Position Responsibilities, include but not limited to:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and the team to develop the conceptual design for custom solutions for special projects and product development projects.
- Effectively collaborate and communicate with internal teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics) to ensure fulfillment and deliveries are completed on time.
- Work closely with the Sales Team to ensure customer’s project requirements and the technical solution are aligned. Clearly communicate risks and status updates.
- Create, maintain and control technical documentations for engineering and manufacturing, such as manufacturing drawings, quality and manufacturing procedures, product install guides.
- Produce concepts and finished designs for product improvements and updates.
- Build protos and mockups to test concepts and gather stakeholder feedback.
- Source and manage components/materials cost.
- Produce custom designs based on standard parts and design rules.
- Interface with customers/stakeholders in the design and construction community, including travel to job sites as needed.
- COO and Design and Application Lead will provide guidance and coaching with conceptual designs.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Technology certificate in Mechanical Engineering, or technical equivalent.
- 1 or more years in a design and/or engineering product environment.
- Knowledge of lighting, lighting or electrical components, electrical distribution or related industries would be an asset.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and hands on experience in AutoCAD.
- Experience using Arena or other PLM platforms would be an asset.
- Experience working in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements and high expectations.
- Project management skills are an asset with focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude as well as excellent communication, presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Possess strong technical skills, the ability to think out of the box and solution orientated thinking.
- Display good judgment, maintain positive employee and customer relations, and create an exciting work environment.
- Possesses independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems.
- The job could require occasional travel.
