Aberdeen Machine (1997) Ltd. is currently seeking a full time Red Seal Senior CNC Machinist to add to our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced with not only CNC lathes, but will have some manual experience as well including all manual machining. Experience with quality control, drafting or leadership is an asset.
Aberdeen Machine is a fast paced environment doing a mix of repair and manufacturing. The ability to strategize, be flexible, and put customer needs and expectations at the forefront of your work is required. The Senior Machinist is expected to effectively carry out a variety of duties in a self driven and timely manner.
Starting wage is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
Skills, Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Proficient in reading and understanding engineered drawings, blueprints, charts, tables and parts blow ups.
- Ability to select appropriate tooling for the work to be done.
- Ability to set up and run Okuma lathes.
- Producing product with an emphasis on quality.
- Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to industry standards.
- Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain calibration of tooling and complete calibration forms as required.
- Maintain work area to the highest housekeeping standards.
- Monitor, provide feedback and maintain equipment to improve machine performance and maintain in good operating condition.
- QC all completed in the shop and effectively communicate any concerns to management
- Perform non-production related work as requested.
- Maintain professional level of personal conduct.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and regulations as well as corporate requirements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To qualify, you must already live and work in Canada, and you must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the Vernon BC area.
- Journeyman certificate, foreign trades license with suitable experience, or possess significant experience with proven ability to perform at the Journeyman level.
- Ability to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

- As a large part of our business is doing repair work for local mills you must be willing to work overtime and/or be called in when a mill requires immediate service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38.00-$44.00 per hour
