We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Civil Litigation Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil litigation (4+ years) and be adept at navigating complex legal issues. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. The Litigation Lawyer will represent clients in various legal proceedings, ensuring their rights are protected while striving for favorable outcomes.
This full-time position will be based out of our Toronto-Yorkville office with some allowance for remote working days. You will be encouraged and supported to develop yourself into a top-class lawyer within the Civil Litigation practice area, being provided mentorship in the legal practice and business development.
Duties Include:
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools to support case preparation.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, aiming for the best possible resolutions.
- Prepare for court appearances by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
- Represent clients in trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings while advocating for their interests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations that may impact cases.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
Requirements include:
- Degree from an accredited law school.
- In good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO)
- 4+ years experience as a Litigation Lawyer (not including articling)
- Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
- Excellent research capabilities to gather pertinent information effectively.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, but lawyers are expected to meet all deadlines and professional expectations.
