Child Psychologist – School Success Program (Up to .5 FTE, contract until March 31, 2026, no benefits)

Reports To: Mental Health Team Lead

:

The purpose of the Psychologist with the School Success Program is to evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment recommendations for youth and their families accessing the School Success Program. The psychologist acts as a resource to and works in collaboration with the members of the School Success Program.

:

Assessment:

· Assessment/evaluation and diagnosis of youth struggling with (but not limited to) learning issues, mental health issues, developmental issues

· Apply psychological theory and principles during the course of the comprehensive assessment

· Use standardized psychological tests for assessment

· Conducting, interpreting, and reviewing client assessment results

· Preparing summary reports to reflect relevant client insights and action plans which may include referrals or resource recommendations

· Maintaining related records, reports, and statistical data in accordance with established standards and procedures

· Ensuring all forms of documentation are accurate and complete

· Reviewing the literature, staying up to date with any changes or developments in the industry

:

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an Interprofessional team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to function independently and interdependently with diverse health care professionals

· Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail

· A positive and professional attitude

· Excellent time management skills with an ability to multi-task and effectively set priorities

· Demonstrated working knowledge of community resources, particularly for youth and families

· Demonstrated ability to work well autonomously

· Adaptable to change

· Knowledge in current, evidence-based methods

· Excellent oral/written/interpersonal skills

· Works in compliance with Health and Safety laws adhering to safe work practices and procedures established by the CFHT

· Demonstrated skills and experience working with children, adolescents, and their families

· Other duties as required.

:

· Doctoral degree in Psychology

· Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario

· Proof of professional liability insurance

· Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check

· It is a condition of employment that you receive the necessary vaccinations to protect against infection of COVID-19, or any similar infectious diseases, which may be recommended by governmental and public health authorities from time to time

:

· Minimum 2 years experience working with youth and families

· Experienced in psychological assessment, diagnoses, treatment, and consultation with a range of mental health/learning/developmental issues

:

· Familiarity with a PC operating system environment

· Experience with Telus Practice Solutions EMR an asset
