About the Role
247 Gard Security is seeking a professional, certified Security Guard Instructor to lead in-class training sessions for new recruits and experienced personnel. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Ontario Ministry-compliant Security Guard Training Program (including the PSISA curriculum)
- Instruct on core subjects:
- Use of Force
- Emergency Response
- Public Relations
- Report Writing
- Legal Authorities under PSISA
- Workplace Safety and Conflict Resolution
- Administer written and practical assessments
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and performance evaluations
- Ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with legal and industry standards
- Mentor students preparing for their licensing exams and real-world fieldwork
- Report progress and feedback to the Training Coordinator or Director
- Maintain a professional, respectful learning environment
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Instructor Certification (as per Ministry of the Solicitor General requirements)
- Certified Use of Force Instructor
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the security or law enforcement field
- Solid understanding of the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA)
- Strong classroom management and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- CPR/First Aid Instructor certification is an asset
- Reliable transportation; ability to travel to training locations as required
