-Position Summary
The Cannabis Grower is responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and harvesting cannabis plants in compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal regulations. This role requires knowledge of horticulture, plant health, environmental controls, and cannabis production techniques to ensure consistent, high-quality yields. The grower works closely with cultivation staff and management to maintain optimal growing conditions, maximize plant health, and meet production goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
-Cultivation & Plant Care
- Germinate, clone, and propagate cannabis plants according to production needs.
- Monitor plant health, including water, nutrient levels, pH balance, and light cycles.
- Identify and address plant diseases, pests, and nutrient deficiencies promptly.
- Implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
- Prune, trellis, and defoliate plants to optimize growth and yield.
Environmental & Facility Management
- Maintain optimal growing conditions (temperature, humidity, lighting, CO₂, and ventilation).
- Operate and monitor cultivation equipment (irrigation systems, HVAC, lighting controls).
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grow environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
-Harvesting & Processing
- Plan and execute harvest schedules based on plant maturity.
- Trim, dry, and cure cannabis while maintaining product quality and consistency.
- Maintain accurate weights, batch tracking, and records for compliance.
Compliance & Documentation
- Follow all regulatory requirements for cannabis cultivation, handling, and storage.
- Keep detailed logs of plant growth, pesticide use, nutrient schedules, and harvest data.
- Ensure all activities meet licensing and quality assurance standards.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Train and supervise cultivation assistants or technicians as needed.
- Work closely with cultivation managers to meet production timelines.
- Report on crop performance, yields, and any issues impacting plant health.
Qualifications
- Experience in horticulture, agriculture, or cannabis cultivation (commercial experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and hydroponic/organic growing methods.
- Ability to identify plant pests, diseases, and deficiencies.
- Familiarity with cannabis compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour
