Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in butchery and meat preparation. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various types of meat products while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to providing high-quality products to our customers and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Candidates are also expected to be comfortable with dealing with customer service.
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, and prepare meat products according to specifications and customer requests
- Ensure all meat handling practices comply with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including tools and equipment
- Package meat products for display or sale while ensuring freshness and quality
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with their selections
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to fulfill specific orders or special requests
- Monitor inventory levels of meat products and communicate needs to management
Requirements
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or butchery
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting techniques and food handling practices
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed
