We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bankruptcy Estate Administrator to join our busy Kelowna office.
Position Overview:
As a Bankruptcy Estate Administrator, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration of personal bankruptcy and consumer proposal files from start to finish. This position requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a fast-paced office setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open, manage, and maintain estate files in accordance with firm and regulatory procedures
- Work independently to ensure guidelines and policies are met in the file administration
- Prepare and file legal documents with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB)
- Handle client correspondence and provide updates on file progress
- Draft notices, court documents, and reports under supervision of the Trustee
- Schedule and assist with counselling sessions, meetings, and court appearances
- Communicate professionally with creditors, clients, and legal representatives
- Maintain accurate and timely records and file documentation
- Perform general administrative duties including data entry and file management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in insolvency, legal administration, or financial services is preferred
- Willing to enroll in and complete a part-time online course for insolvency administrator
- Strong attention to detail is essential
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with insolvency software (e.g., Ascend) is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
