Reports to: Projects Director
Work Arrangement: On site with some travel to project sites
Location: Mississauga, ON
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the Millwork Industry. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with a proven track record in project coordination and client support. As Assistant Project Manager, you will serve as a key liaison between our clients and internal teams—ensuring all project requirements, deadlines, and standards are met with precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers as a point of contact for clients, ensuring their expectations align with project deliverables
- Support the planning, execution, and completion of millwork projects from start to finish
- Coordinate with internal departments and external trades to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project schedules
- Manage and resolve issues related to design, quality, timeline, and communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and participate in regular status meetings
- Assist in procurement, budgeting, and job costing as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 3 years of experience in a project management or assistant project management role in the millwork or related woodworking industry
- Strong technical understanding of millwork and custom fabrication processes
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working directly with clients, architects, and contractors
- Proficient in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Effective team collaboration and leadership capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
