About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated apprentice carpenter with hands-on experience in concrete form-work to join our expanding team! This is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the trade and eager to take the next step in their journey as a carpenter apprentice with the goal of becoming a foreman/lead hand. Please note that we are NOT looking for laborers; rather, we are seeking someone with experience who aspires to become a carpenter apprentice, lead hand, or foreman!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and dismantling form-work for concrete foundations work (walls, footings, etc)
- Assist with cutting, laying and placing rebar
- Load, unload, and move construction materials and tools
- Clean and prepare construction sites
- Follow company safety procedures, policies and protocol
- Follow direction from supervisors and work collaboratively with the crew
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Support carpenters with layout, framing, and pouring as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in concrete forming and carpentry support
- Basic understanding of construction drawings is an asset
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs or more
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Valid class 5 license
- Able to work long hours in standing positions and doing repetitive tasks.
- Must be good with heights enjoy working outdoors
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
