Kawartha Food Share is a respected charity that has been dedicated to providing emergency food to citizens in Peterborough and County for over 20 years. Through our community partnerships, we are able to acquire, sort, and distribute over $10 million dollars of food items each year to 37 member agencies and 51 local schools for breakfast and nutrition programs.
We are looking to add an Administrative Assistant to our team. This role is key to ensuring the smooth daily operations of our office and providing support to our programs and member agencies. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and passionate about making a difference in our community. You will act as an ambassador of our organization, maintaining positive relationships with our member agencies and local donors and report to the General Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties:
- Answer phone, transfer call and take messages
- Assist donors and clients who arrive at the warehouse
- Record minutes during meetings
- Maintain client database and liaison between KFS and member agencies
- Prepare and mail tax receipts, thank you cards and donor letters
- Prepare monthly donor reports and tracking
- Serve as the Link2Feed liaison, assisting member agencies with onboarding clients, troubleshooting and data management
Fundraising & Events Responsibilities:
- Seek out new grant opportunities, provide assistance in acquiring data/ surveys/ financial documents needed for grant writing
- Provide assistance to General Manager in planning and executing community events
- Organize volunteer groups in the warehouse
- Organize volunteers at community food drives
Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario G license and reliable method of transportation to the warehouse each day
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with warehouse processes and inventory is an asset
- Efficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs
- Experience with Link2Feed or other data management systems is an asset (training will be provided)
- Great communication and interpersonal skills are required when dealing with co-workers, donors, member agencies, volunteers ext.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
