Canada Summer Jobs Position
Hours: Various days and hours as required. Approximately 8 weeks – 35 hours/wk
Anticipated Start Date: June 22, 2025 (8 weeks)
Wage Rate: $17.70/hour
Reports to: Community and Client Relations Manager
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to motivate others (staff, residents, volunteers)
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting with elderly and/or individuals with varying degrees of disabilities
- Possess good communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Possess a friendly disposition and willingness to work in a team atmosphere
- Experience with social medial accounts and creating videos for social media
- Outstanding and proven customer service skills required
- Must have experience in Microsoft Word, Windows, and general computer applications
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly staff news bulletin and distribute
- Following up on inquiries from residents
- Covering the reception area as required; greeting visitors and service people promptly and directing to the appropriate person/area, answering calls
- Marketing; maintain social media, writing posts, taking pictures at events, etc.
- Delivering welcome packages to new residents
- Completing paperwork and other office duties
- Familiarizing oneself with all relevant organizations and programs
- Aid staff from other departments as required
- Assist with community outreach promoting the Meals on Wheels by collecting and compiling data to create contact lists, calling like minded partners and to set up go too.
- Assisting with events and interacting with residents.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven computer skills including WORD, EXCEL and internet, reading and writing comprehension and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Possess a combination of communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
The nature of this position will require the successful candidate to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check before the commencement of employment.
